Our Story
Komnamites is a group of passionate and dedicated Kom youths and young adults committed to promoting their culture; engaging the youths, and empowering and motivating one another.
Komnamites is non-partisan, non-political and non-profit and was created with primary goal to engage the youths, empower, motivate one another, preserve and foster the cultural heritage of Kom, cater to the social and economic wellbeing of each other, enhance cooperation and understanding between ourselves and the rest of the society.
We seek to impact the Kom community at home and abroad through projects in diverse sectors such as healthcare, finance, education, community development, career development and culture.
Komnamites first and foremost is a youth wing of AFOAKOM USA.
Afoakom USA is a nonprofit cultural and development association of the Kom people in the United States of America that initiates or supports ideas, projects and programs for the betterment of Komrades, particularly in the homestead in Kom.

Our Objectives
The objectives of Komnamites align with that of the National organization, AFOAKOM-USA. As a branch of Afo-akom, we seek to promote cooperation among all members that value Kom culture, its heritage and development. In greater details, its objectives are:
- To provide the context and environment within which members and interested persons can learn about Kom, its language and culture as well as empowering and motivating each member.
- Impact the Kom community at home and abroad through projects in diverse sectors such as healthcare, finance, education, community development and career development.
- To promote active collaborations, networking and mutual assistance geared towards members’ economic & social growth.
- To support Afo-Akom National as the Young Adults from Kom.
- To provide Mentorship to its members and other Young Kom adults in different fields of studies.
Komnamites Membership
Being a member of Komnamites in any categories denotes a commitment to adhere to the objectives and bylaws of KOMNAMITES. All members are expected to fill and submit their registration form before paying in their registration fees.
Our Membership Categories
There are 3 membership categories within our organization namely; Full, Associate and Elite Memberships. Registration fees for each of these is set at $100 per year, covering from June to June.
Full Membership
Full membership is open to all kom youths between the ages of 18 and 42 and to persons of any national, ethnic, or cultural origin engaged or married to a Komnamite residing in the United States.
Associate Membership
This is open to anyone irrespective of origin that has any close connection, interest or affiliation with Kom, and whose membership is accepted after a formal request is submitted to Komnamites.
Elite Membership
This is open to any Komnamites that turns 42 while still an active member. Members in this category are transitioned from a full member to an elite member once they turn 42 and can no longer run for office.
